{"id":1689,"date":"2020-09-09T07:39:32","date_gmt":"2020-09-09T07:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afluxcoin.com\/39\/defi-meets-universal-basic-income-with-just-launched-project-from-etoro\/"},"modified":"2020-09-09T07:39:32","modified_gmt":"2020-09-09T07:39:32","slug":"defi-meets-universal-basic-income-with-just-launched-project-from-etoro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afluxcoin.com\/ru\/39\/defi-meets-universal-basic-income-with-just-launched-project-from-etoro\/","title":{"rendered":"DeFi Meets Universal Basic Income With Just-Launched Project From eToro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sep 8, 2020 at 15:15 UTCUpdated <!-- -->Sep 8, 2020 at 15:58 UTC<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"710\" height=\"458\" src=\"https:\/\/static.coindesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/etoro-invest-710x458.jpg\" alt=\"etoro-invest\"><\/p>\n<p>(CoinDesk archives)<\/p>\n<p>Multi-asset brokerage platform eToro has begun a new initiative that uses yield farming to hand out free crypto-backed stablecoins, apparently in a bid to promote financial inclusion.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Called GoodDollar, the project will create and issue a stablecoin ($G) that can be distributed daily to registered users as a form of universal basic income (UBI). <\/li>\n<li>At launch, each $G token will be backed by dai (DAI) stablecoins, although the plan is to diversify collateral so that each stablecoin is backed by a basket of cryptocurrencies. <\/li>\n<li>The UBI model is sustained by supporters who deposit underlying assets onto the platform and then yield farm on supported decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, like Compound or Aave.<\/li>\n<li>Some of the accrued interest is then handed back to supporters, with the rest used as collateral for new $G tokens that are distributed each day.<\/li>\n<li>GoodDollar is a non-profit funded by donations from eToro.
